Octavia Haughton, LPC
I hold a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Marymount University, I am licensed by the state of Virginia as a License Mental Health Counselor, I also hold the certification in the state of Virginia as a Certified Pre-screener, this certification is awarded to clinicians who are able to assess for and initiate a voluntary or involuntary hospitalization for clients that are experiencing acute psychosis or in danger of hurting themselves or someone else.
I pursued an education in psychology because I wanted to gain an understanding of behavior, why people do what they do. My interest into behavior and wanting to be of service has led me to career of helping other. Life is hard but we are in this together. I sought a counseling specialization because I have found that people need a safe space to work through their struggles.
